Late Merry Christmas

Well I hope you had a Merry Christmas. We had a great past few days and very busy. Here is a recap-
Christmas Eve-We went to "Aunt Jennifer's" and had lots of food and fun with Jer's dad's side of the family. But first, we went to Nana and Papa's and exchanged gifts with them. They got him a really cute ride on fire truck. He was such a serious driver! We got such a kick out of it.

Christmas-Then Santa came to our house:-) Brock didn't get up until about 8am (nice). So then it was present time. We I went to get Brock I told him (In my most excited voice) Santa came and brought your presents...let's go see them. So as we walk into the living room he was GRIPING my hand and looking totally freak out...He was looking all around...not in the directions of his toys...He was completely freaked because he though Old St. Nick was still at the house...SO funny! we had to explain that Santa had left..then he was totally cool. Santa left him lots of cool toys.

This is how Brock rolls-Feet up baby!
Brock even liked Mama's gift:-) Good Job Santa!

Then for Christmas lunch we went to Jeremy's Grandma and Papa's. We got a few pics there too...

Me, Brock, Jer, Nana, Uncle Steven, and Papa

Jer, Brock & Steven (Jer's younger bro)
More presents...
All the grand(boys) and Little Colleen...The only grand-girl!
We ended the day at Mimi's and Daddy-o's (My aunt and uncle) and we were so tired there were no pictures.
BTW-Brock slept 13 hours Christmas night (went out @ 7:30pm and woke up and 8:30am)....Wow!!!

Resolutions

That is right...I am already prepared to state them. Okay so I am early. If you know me, you know I am totally a planner. Last week I called to make my OBGYN annual appt, but they told me they don't schedule 7 months in advance...LOSERS!

So here they are:

1. Reading-I really want to to start reading books. I know that sounds totally stupid to say-but I really do. Any good ideas on what to start reading?? I have heard that the Twilight series is really good...but I dunno. (dunno-phrase I used constantly in school...takes me back).

2. Nails-I have vowed to STOP messing with my nails and let them grow longer...They are looking really good....Hope it lasts.

3. Exercising and lose 10 pounds-I know I can do this one...I just haven't really wanted to. Last year Jer and I did the Biggest Loser thing at home together. We would weigh in every Tues. AM and who ever lost the most weight wouldn't have to make the bed and make coffee daily for a week. I WON every week...so I think we are gonna do that again. Together we lost a combined total of about 40 pounds...GO US!

4. Brock-get him to go to bed and nap without someone swaying him or walking around with him. I want to be able to put him down awake and him fall asleep.

Picture Tag...Thanks Tara

I got tagged by The Libby's to do this fun tag...I have no idea how it will turn out...so here goes:

Picture Tag
I have been tagged by tarato a picture challenge. Here are the rules....

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same
NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc!)

Okay...so I did cheat a bit because the actual picture was of a video clip, so this was the next one (the 5th folder).

This picture was taken last September in our bathtub. I loved this age of Brock (6 months). He is so fat here and his feet are positioned just right!! This makes me cry, because my baby is no longer a baby. I also love that his feet are identical to mine...this shows his precious feet up close. Also, check out those man boobs he's got goin' on:-) Man, I miss those days!

Cute idea huh. So why don't you try it. I tag:

Hollie, Dan and Cort, ...ummm so that is it. How sad, I only have a few blogger friends...Can't wait to see your pics guys:-)

Monday, December 15

I can totally hear you...

Saturday night JEr and I went to do a little Christmas shopping. Afterwards we headed to a local Starbucks for a pick me up. Our conversation pulling up was the same as always:
J: Order for me what I got last time, just not the fat free kind.
K-Ohh you want a Vanilla Latte, 1/2 cafe.
J: Just order for us.
K: Okay fine.

So I move and lean over Jeremy, and so I don't have to hang my head out the window, I talk a little louder than normal, so they can hear me and all.

I get back into my seat and we pull up to the window. The barista* greets us and says and I quote: "Ma'ma you don't have to lean over...I can totally hear you."

I 'bout died, but laughed it off of course. Who knew they could hear long distances from that speaker.

Half the time I have to YELL it at McDonalds TWICE to get my order through...and they still don't get it right!

*Barista-refers to one who has acquired some level of expertise in the preparation of espresso-based coffee drinks.

Starting Traditions

Christmas is a great time to start a tradition with your family. Since Brock is nearly two, this is the perfect time to start. So I had this grand idea of driving around and looking at lights. It went like this in my head: Jer and I upfront in the car. I , of course, have on the cutest layered look shirt with one of those scarves (Hollie style) and we are sipping on Starbucks, while Brock is in the back of the car, in his most precious Christmas PJ's, oohhinh and aawwing at the lights. I pictured him shouting out full sentences while looking at the lights. Jeremy and I are smiling at each other and laughing the entire trip.

This is how it really went..OHHH why are things so much better in your head?

We load up. Jer has on a Middle School sweatshirt; I am in the same outfit since 6AM this morning along with the same hair and makeup from this morning. I have NO cute scarf like I imagined. We start out driving and Brock starts to fall asleep (Worst nightmare because it is only a little after 6pm). It was SSSOOO dark in the car I could only see his face when we passed by a street light. I never thought I may not be able to see his expression when he saw the lights. So we decide just to hit up one stop, only a few miles from our house. So needless to say there weren't no Starbucks in our car (definately the biggest let down). So we drive to our destination, and the house with the flashing lights is so stinkin crowded with 'necks standing outside (waiting with beer in hand no less). SO since they were blocking the house, we didn't see much. So we con't to drive around and did see some good lights, but Brock could of cared less. I thought it would be a good idea to let him sit in between Jer and I upfront since we were just riding around, but all he wanted to do was drive and talk on the phone. I loved every minute of our new tradition!! I hope it sticks!

Here are a few pictures from the night:

The cutest thing did happen. We saw some ever popular deer with white lights and I said, "Look at the deer Brock." Brock replies:" Pow-pow". Priceless!!!

Write Now Wednesday

If you know me, you know I love to play on words. That is one of the main reasons I became a teacher ( I am AWESOME at coming up with bulletin board titles). SSSOOO I thought of this for Wednesday. I was trying to do the OOHH SOOO popular Wordless Wednesday, but I had no good pictures and one thing lead to another. So here is the ONLY rule for Write Now Wednesday...You write what ever is on your mind right now...That means no pre-planning blog ideas, or using a picture from last Friday...So here goes:

Right now I am hoping that I remember to do this next week.

Right now I am wondering how old will I be before I can keep my house clean 24-7.

Right now I am thinking I need to pick up and fold that blanket and put it on the couch...why does your couch/bed look SOO much neater if the blanket is folded instead of just thrown?

Right now I am remembering how good Apple Juice is.

Right now I am laughing at Brock talking himself to sleep in his crib in his most high pitched-precious tone.

Right now I would love to know who or what he is talking about.

Right now all I can see is Jer's feet because he is kicked back in the recliner. It almost looks like he is naked because he is wearing shorts, that I can't see from this angle--who-hoo!

Right now I am hoping I get to make my bed tomorrow, unlike the last two days..It ruins my whole day to know my bed isn't made.

Right now I realize I can't take it anymore...I gotta fold that blanket!

Not me Monday

I did not go to Orlando this weekend for shopping only.
I did not shop for over 14 hours in one day.
I did not leave my precious baby for the first time ever.
I did not cry until I could no longer speak or until I was blowin’ snot.
My husband did not call me crazy for crying.
I did not think about what I may have missed on my fav blogs.
I did not purchase an expensive purse for me from Santa.
I did not pout when the Gators won.
I did not complete this post during school time

You might be Simply Southern if...

You may be simply southern if...(drum roll please)

~You monogram everything.

~You know that no matter how old you are, your father is “Daddy” and your mother is “Mama.”

-When you talk about being little or young you say, "I use-to-could"( Southern Pronunciation-Use-Ta-cood) . As in "I use to could eat butter by the spoonfuls when I was little.

~You would never wear black, red, or white to a wedding, nor would you wear red or white to a funeral.

~You would stay home before you wore white shoes or linen before Easter or after Labor Day. Also, you would never wear velvet before Thanksgiving or after Valentine’s Day.

~You know that if you are chewing gum, you’d better be underneath the bed with the bedroom door closed.

~You love sweet tea, red velvet cake, black-eyed peas, fried okra, turnipgreens, and cornbread.

-If you've ever said GoodNightNurse-No space needed because it is really a triple compound word). (Nurse is pronounced "Ner-s". Like the sound in Nerf-like the nerf gun..I hope you get it by now.

These are just a few things that makes me southern. What makes you southern???

I'm BBBAAACCCKK!!! YESSSS!

You know you are so excited that I am back...I have missed this blogging world and wanted to re-vamp my blog. So early Merry Christmas to yall!

The only reason I was able to make the changes that were desperately needed was my 20 month old has been going to sleep about 90 minutes earlier than normal. I have no idea of what to do with myself...and this has happened two nights in a row. That means 180 minutes of extra time on my hands...Jer and I have been sitting and just looking at each other (Cue the crickets in the background). But we are loving it.

Last night we watched Tropic Thunder...HIL-LAR-E-US!!! It was nasty, but so funny! Tonight I enjoyed my two most favorite things Diet coke and a bath..AT THE SAME TIME=HEAVEN at home...So nice.

Well I don't wanna blow all my good stuff I've been saving to post at once...Stay tuned:-)

Sunday, November 2

Warning-This post is completely out of order!

As you can see...Brock is just so upset about the Dawgs loss!!!! Brock had a ball with Hayden Saturday. We tail-gated downtown for the game...It was so much fun. Brock loved being outside
Where did that ball go??

GO DAWGS!!! SICK 'EM!!! This is before the game...as you can tell from all the smiles

This was a SUPER busy weekend. But all I have time for is to post some pics of this weekend. It has been GREAT until today-Jer woke up with a stomach/fever bug and has been in the bed all day. He talking about going to the doctor tomorrow-he must be sick:-( So I have been a single mom today-I am so thankful for all the Jer does do! (When he's not hunting, watching sporting events, or playing cards)

Anyway-Here are some cute pictures from this weekend: Starting on Thursday night: We went to Spooktacular-It was Awesome and Brock loved it:-)

Man-Brock looks really old in this picture (ABOVE)

Loved the blow up pumpkins

Halloween Night-
Brock was Darth from Star Wars-

He had a ball in the wagon and it was great because I didn't have to chase him up and down! Best idea I had all day! I can't wait until he can say "Trick or Treat"!

Tuesday night

Many of you know of the stresses I have encountered this week...On Monday I thought it was going to be a really grim week. I had a lot of guilt and unanswered questions. I prayed over and over for peace about the situation. I slept SOOO good monday night (though it was not expected) and woke up with so much peace and a different outlook on things. I thought it may take a while for this peace, but it was almost immediate. I didn't know what else to pray for, but that was what I needed.
(Jesus said:) "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14.27)
Tuesday was a long day that ended on a great note. I was invited by Jobeth to attend LNO-Ladies Night Out. Hollie also went with us. I met such a sweet and special lady (who by the way has 6...yep one more than cinco). She talked about the heart of a child. I learned so much and already have tried out some things with Brock...and Jeremy. But the main thing I got out of it was that God put me there...that night...one night after a stressful and an event I was unsure on how to handle. I know He is guiding me...if I will listen. I also realized how thankful I am for my family and my precious gift (Brock). When you need Him, He is always there...Just listen for His direction.

Not Me! Monday

Here we are again...finishing up a Monday...So here goes my NOT me Monday...

I am not sitting here watching another football game while Jer is not in a TV coma...

Brock did not cough all the way to school and he didn't blow out green snot while coughing. He does NOT sound pitful as he coughs and I do not wish I could just cough for him.

I am not freaking out because his halloween cosutme hasn't shipped. I am not ticked because I ordered it a week ago and haven't even got a email stating it has mailed yet!!! Oh no, it is not located as far as possible from our state...No, not the opposite coast line.

Brock's mom will not cry when she sees how uncool his made up costume will be.

Okay...there it is. I am not, not really not, doing the Mr. Linky thing because no one did it...You can find the rules from Not Me! Monday at My Charming Kids Blog!

Sunday, October 26

Just realized...

Just realized that I changed my comments so they don't automatically come up, I had to moderate them...so thanks! That was another reason I wasn't bloggin'....I THOUGHT NO ONE WAS READING!

'

Yep..I'm still alive!

I've been in a blog drought. Here's why:

-My child is cutting ALL 4 of his "eye" teeth (the sharp pointy ones...man that junk is gotta hurt) AT THE SAME TIME. Just in time for Halloween! He is the same child who wakes up off and on each night only to find the next morning a sweet present poking through the gum. Not like the whole tooth, but just enough to let us know it is there.

Also, with each tooth comes the best preset. First, GREEN snot...thick...stringy and lime green. I swear it would stretch across our front yard! The kind that looks like Nickelodeon's Double Dare kind (you know you watched that show as a kid!). In addition to the green mucus that streams downs his face all day, HE HATES TO HAVE HIS NOSE WIPED! So every five minutes it is a fight to get the snot off his nose, so that it doesn't reach his mouth and provide him extra protein!

But it gets better...Yeah....appreciate YOUR child if they wake up and you're like Hummmmm you gotta new tooth..How long has that been there?

Second, loose stools that occur three to four times a day...Yep and you know what else accompanies loose stools...DIAPER RASH! If you know my kid, you know he is known for his SUPER sensitive skin, so imagine his diaper rash today (mmmm'kay). I could keep him in a bubble, and he still would get some kinda rash , somewhere...But at least he likes to get the poop cleaned up, right...NOT EVEN. Now he runs from me when he sees I have a clean diaper in my hand. Then it is like a wrestling match as I try to clean up poop, apply diaper rash junk that don't even work and move the poopy diaper far enough away so that he doesn't grab it.

So see that's why I haven't been posting, feel my pain now?

Also, since I made my bloggy private for personal reason (most yall know) I feel like NO ONE reads it...Is it harder to read because you have to log in or something?

Monday, October 13

Not me Monday!

I believe that it does a woman so good to be completely honest, so I will attempt to do so every Monday. This may be the only blog you get outta me! My charming kids has a very addictive blog because her kids are too cute and I love her posts Not Me Monday! So since my blog has now been made private, I feel I can be honest so here goes:

Last Sunday night I did not cry because I didn't want to see my first born drinking his chocolate milk, watching TV and cuddling his "bobble" anyway. I didn't mind having to get up, throw him in the car half asleep and haul it to the next town for my J-O-B. I don't mind doing it everyday!

This week Brock will not throw himself very slowly down onto the tile and then begin to scream like a wild man because I did not have to pee after being in a classroom all day. He will also not blow out snot bubbles because his cold is not coming back for the 3rd time.

I did not gripe about cooking dinner that takes one hour and Brock will not drag out every item in my kitchen while I am cooking. The meal did not take 10 minutes to scarf down only to be left to clean the kitchen again.

Brock's hairdresser was not 20 minutes late for his appointment and he didn't scream the entire time while everyone in our small town didn't take pity on us having to deal with him.

There was no way that I left school early to meet the termite man, who is not very expensive, only for him not to be late and for him to not show up at all.

I did not write down my four dinner menus for the week so I will not remember what to cook. I did not fore-go the list and fix whatever was easiest.

I did not spend many hot and tiring hours only to make a few bucks at a garage sale.

I do not read HT's blog for a daily pick me up.

My wardrobe for last week was not planned around whatever I had to iron.

I did not spend my classroom planning time to write this blog because I don't have a thousand school related things to do. I will not goof off and waste valuable time.

I didn't love writing this post and I don't want to see yours either! ohhh...I am not completely unsure of how to do the Mr. Linky thing...so don't bare with me.

Official Rules are here.

Sunday, October 12

You'd be proud...

You should be very proud of me and my very constructive weekend. It started Friday loading up a BUNCH O JUNK for a garage sale we had Sat. at Grandma's. I got there with Brock on hip about 8:30 and worked until about 4pm. Garage sales are SOOOO tiring... But we got rid of a few things and made a little money for Christmas.

Saturday night we watched the Gaytors beat LSU...By the way Urban..don't you know its rude to run up the score....But I did love the fact that Tebow had Philp. 4:13 on his cheeks ( I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. KJV)...What a great role model. I tried to fins a pic of him from last night, but I stopped looking after I found this....too funny. Is this real??.... mean the picture!

Sunday I did some grocery shopping and played the grocery game....Yep I did. I saved about $52.21! That was the most I have saved so far. When I got home I put up the groceries, and then became even more productive. Instead of laying on the couch like my better half....I got out my black spray paint and painted lids to some canisters I racked up at the garage sale. Then spayed a few pic frames black too. I guess I was in a dark mood.

I also finally got my curtains in from JCPenny's and hung those up in my room and Brock's room. This is huge for me because I have been in my house for 23 months and just putting up curtains. I told you have ALWAYS have good intentions.....I'll post pics soon.

Well this is SUPER long post, so I will end it quick...KBO OUT

New Title

I think I am going to call my blog The Bi Monthly Boatright Buzz. I can't seem to get into the habit of keeping up this blog...I had really good intentions, but by the time I read certain blogs, I don't feel like typing mine. The newness has worn off. This happens often in my life. Examples:

-Running-going to start again for the 3rd time with HT. Maybe a partner will help
-Turbo Jam-successful for about 2 weeks, haven't done it since
-Vera Bradleys-Cute two years ago...OVER IT
-Bleach Blonde hair-now I like low lights
-Cleaning-I started this thing where I would spend 10 min every night cleaning something...well you know what I am doing now...NOT CLEANING
-Flowers-I always buy some, but never water them and they die.
-Grocery Game-Said I was going to play, bought the subscription, but never really played to win

I guess you could say I have the best of intentions.......with ALOT of things!

I will try to update...if not...well if you know me then you should know what to expect by now!

The TrendSetter....

Please take note of the hottest toddler styles for fall. Your not cool unless you rock it like Brock does: One shoe, pantless, stripes and argyle mix, winter hat with the tag attached and a band-aid for show....Get some of that!

First time for me....

Saturday night was officially a girls night out. My hubby was in Athens at the GA game (Keep rude losing comments to yourself) and I had a babysitter, so I rounded up the girls. Hollie, Jessica and myself headed to the Town Center for dinner and shopping. I had birthday money that was burning a hole in my pocket. The nurse (Jessica) had recently bought some designer jeans and was putting the pressure on me to buy some, but I have a problem with buying one pair of jeans that cost the same amount as two weeks of food for my family, so I denied. Don't get me wrong, they were great, WONDERFUL, made my butt look SOOOO good, but I figured maybe I could find some I liked as good, so we headed to Express (I can always find something there). I tried on a pair of these and I came out looking 10 pounds lighter (so my dear friends told me). So OF COURSE I bought them, they were half the price of the others, but when I had on the new jeans I realized HOW BAD the ones I had on that night looked on me (Banana Republic two sizes too big). They were awful and looked like TWO sizes too big. So I straight up tore the tags off, got the sensors removed and WALKED OUTTA THE STORE WITH THEM ON! IT was really funny b/c when I went to buy them I handed the girl the tag and said "I'm wearin' these" in my sweetest county voice. It must have threw her off b/c she forgot to give me my cash back....After that I felt much better about myself. Not to mention I was walking around with a size zero and a size two...Even if you added up their sizes, it still didn't make mine...but you know..I live to eat, not eat to live!

Friday, September 26

Grey's....2 hours of DRAMA

Okay for all my fellow Grey follwers what did you think of last night's two hour episode??? (Don't read if you haven't watched your TiVo yet).

The beginning freaked me out (derek dying in a car wreck), but I really hope Mer and Derek move in together. I wish it would work out for them...I love looking at him...hhmmmmmm.

Alex and Izzie-please hook up already...all that tension is killing me.

Yang-GEEEEZ, I thought I was negative and dramatic. She has got me beat. I hope that Dr. Hunt (McIrish) comes back for her...but if they reproduced those kids would be kinda..well..not cute or lets face it...ugly. Please don't have kids with each other.

I love George-he is so not with it...how can he not know that younger grey is in love with him...how cute would they be?

McSteamy (Eric Dane) all he has to do is stand there....Why can't he do this every episode? Bet they'd have more viewers. Check this video out...The song brings me back....BABY!

Can't wait till next week....Will McIrish come back...what will they call him? Will Mer and Dereck move in? Will Izzie and Alex hook up?

And the Award goes to...

Me! My sweet, so like me, friend has chosen me for the SMILE award...Thanks Hollie! Thank you for thinking of me. I really enjoy reading other blogs more than updating my own. But Hollie seems to think I deserve this award, this is why I heart Hollie!

OKay, like I said I read more blogs and hardly EVER comment on the ones I read (anti-social Owens coming out in me) so I don't really have 5 people to nominate, so I have three....pitiful....I know! I need more friends (that blog).
1. Jobeth-she is such a postive and sweet person. I use to teach with Jobeth and I really do miss her smile on the bus lot at the end of the day. She is an awesome mom and friend. Jobeth and I started to become friends during college. We carpooled and during those rides we discussed a huge amount of different topics and she is ALWAYS positive....so she is definately deserving.
2. Tara-one word to sum up Tara-CALM. I work with Tara (see you next week) at school and even as frustrating and stressful teaching can be, she is so even tempered....It is really amazing. She is also a great mom and I am sure Cale has her smiling alot!

The good stuff

Okay so the last post was kinda boring, so lets get to the good stuff....what I got for being 26. I had a whole weekend birthday fest!

From Jeremy and Brock-A perfectly pink petite IPOD. I feel so technologically advanced, but then I feel dumb because I don't really know how to work iTunes yet....it's coming though. In addition to my PPPIpod I also got a docking station and a cord that you can plug into your car and it will play your ipod, if your car is like mine and is out dated and DOESN'T have a direct hook up to my ipod.

Saturday-Jeremy and I went out to Carrabbas and ate and afterwards (BEFORE THE DAWG'S PLAYED) he gave my my gift. I was very excited, because I kinda mentioned that I wanted one in passing. Not a serious request, like I so often make.

Sunday-My family and in laws went to my Aunt's house for lunch where we had Beach Road Chicken...mmmmmm and KP's famous white icing coconut cake....If your from 'round here you know this cake! I got some cash and some really cute earrings.

Monday-Started my day at school and one of my very sweet students brought me a mini one of these in the cutest pot. HOW SWEET! I love this kid...he is why I love teaching! Then after school we ate dinner at Tonya's (mom in law). She had a few surprises for me too! A sweater from my FAV store, a new key finder, and the most festive wall flower I have ever seen!

The best surprise was 3 different pieces of Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake and Rice Krispy Treats (by Jer's request). This is all that if left of our dessert! It's only your birthday once a year.

I got a lot of stuff from everyone, including myself. I had to treat myself at Ann Taylor Loft (NEW FAV STORE). They gave me 20% off because I was a teacher (bout time!)

At this time I am reminded of Madonna's song....Material Girl...uh oh!
