Summer Staples

In an effort to shed a few for summer I've been trying some low cal foods! I am one of those people who lives to eat, not eat to live so it is hard for me to sacrifice my favorite foods! Say hello to my new loves:

Fat Free Reddi Whip. It is great on jell-o, strawberries or even a finger!

These brownies taste just like the old regular ones that I ate 'bout every other day in elementary, middle and high school, but they only last about two bites...and there are no nuts that I have to pick off. So enjoy these bites.

These two together could be sinful! And only 105 calories...So I don't feel so bad when I have two...or three in a day:-) Board shorts Bikini here I come!

Yep...I deleted my signature again...

Racing midnight thoughts...

Last night I was completely exhausted and snuggled into my bed and went immediately to sleep. It was around 10:00...I had just got done CRYING my eyes out from Grey's Anatomy (why do they have to keep having sick, dying kids!) and I was glad to be going to sleep. I never wake up in the middle of the night, so when I did I was TICKED!

What made me even more mad was there was really no reason for my eyes to pop open @ 2am and my brain began to race. My first thought was okay...I have a few more hours before I have to get up...but then I began to think about growing out of this house. I swear I hadn't been awake for 2 minutes and I began re-arranging furniture in my head to make room for a possible 2nd baby (in the NOT near future). I began to freak thinking we're not even gonna have room for a family of four to sit around the table and break bread...Then I started to think WHY did we buy a three bedroom house??? Why didn't we wait and get a bigger one? Why was I such in a hurry to get a house? What if that new house goes for sale down the road? Is it four bedroom? Then I picture us just walking down our furniture to the new house. Then I begin to think we don't have enough money for a bigger house and probably couldn't sell this one...GEEZ!

I begin to rationalize (haha) and think I'll just have to make due with the house....
Then I began to think what could I get rid of to make room for a play room in our current dining room. How could I get rid of that beautiful table where we had our first Christmas dinner? What if I wanted to feed more than four people and had no big dining table? Then I picture card tables all around us with mismatching chairs.

I mean what kinda uptight, weirdo, anal, physco, (did I say weirdo) wakes up to thinking about how to make room for another family member that doesn't even exist? These thoughts have never really crossed my mind...even when we were thinking of buying this house. Why am I ,all of a sudden, not content with this house and its great qualities? Why can't I think about it during the day on a long drive or something? Why must those thoughts awake me in the middle of the night? What the heck??

Wordless Wednesday...Almost!

Man how time flies...This was almost a year ago to the day!

That's what friends are for...

So you all know Brock had a great birthday party. But what made it so much better is that we had alot of our friends there. One sweet friend of ours has taken pictures of our family many times and always seems to exceed our expectations... The day of the party was no different. Kaci Brown showed up with her kids, husband, and her GI-NORMOUS-LENS (I was super excited when she whipped out that bad boy...)! She took some great shots, which allowed me not to worry about getting the best pictures, but to relax (okay who are we kidding..do I EVER relax) and enjoy the kids! Thanks again Kaci....We love them! She gave a sneak peek on her blog...Click here to see them!! Or click on Kaci to see her photography website!

BTW-Kaci is great at shooting kids...I'll try to post some more of her work!

I ain't never...

Today in school I was teaching a Lang Arts lesson in double negatives. Teachin' and livin' in a hick town-we use LOTS of double and more often than not triple negatives!! So today when I was teaching I gave my example first.

K to the class: How often do you hear me say "Oh no...We ain't doin' dat today!"?
Class: All the time...you say ain't ALL the time...Like every sentence Mrs. Boatright!!
Then one student said...You say nothin' all the time too!

So anyway here are some of the sentences that they came up with using double negative...

1. We ain't never seen that.
2. My Daddy don't have no money.
3. We don't know nuttin'.
4. I ain't got none.
5. You ain't got no paper.

Brock is the KING of double negatives right now! He has been saying alot : "No, not want ______" You fill in the blank (doctor, bath, brushing teeth etc).

I guess I really need to watch my double negatives...what about you?

Mr Popular

Friday night Jeremy and I went out with my best friend since 3rd grade, her hubby and Jer's lil bro-Steven to PF Changs in celebration of Jeremy's brithday ( I know it was 3 weeks late, but anyway). We went to The Grape while we waited on our table. When we got there this guy was just starting to play acoustic guitar and introduced himself as Mark O'quinn. Jeremy 'bout broke his neck to turn and see this guitar player. Then realized this was THE "Medicine Man" (Remember the old favorite show "Dr Quinn Medicine Woman...now you get it) Mark O'quinn that he played basketball with in high school!. But I wasn't even surprised. Jeremy saw a student from his school at DISNEY WORLD. Not. Even. Kidding.

And by the way, Mark was AWESOME! He played cover songs and did acoustic versions of Waterfalls by TLC, Wonderwall by Oasis and even Candy Rain! We even went back to hear him play after we ate! Jessica and I challeneged each other to see who could say the first word of the song first...okay maybe you had to be there, but we had fun.

Anyway, we had a great time and remember no matter where you go if Jeremy is with you please look half way decent because...HE WILL KNOW SOMEONE!

Disney Part 2

So last Tuesday we headed to Sea World and it just didn't start...or end well. Here is why Sea World was no fun...
*In the 50's with a CONSTANT wind
*Took 45 minutes just to get into park to park

*Getting off the tram the man in a hurry threw me my stroller to get me off the tram nice man handed me my stroller and my finger got stuck where the stroller folds and so I had to with one had close the stroller back up to get my finger free. It was quite painful and all I could think at the time was losing my finger in a horrible stroller accident in front of SW...and I was trying SUPER hard not to cry...I kept telling Jer..HELP!! He replied...What do you want me to do? Not the right thing to say dude...So I quietly explain that my finger was stuck and he proceeds to say ," Excuse me sir...we need some help" to the man who threw me the stroller to begin with...but about that time I got my finger out!
*Found the shortest line I could and waited 45 minutes for popcorn and a hotdog.
*Large man with a straw hat (because it was so sunny...NOT) in front of me blocked my view of Shamoo!
But this was the best part:

Brock thought it was so fun that he went to sleep...He was so not impressed...

After Sea World we did have fun @ the T-Rex Experience. It is a super cool restaurant in Downtown Disney. Here are some pictures...

Dinosaurs and fish tanks were everywhere! So much to look at. Everyone in a while the lights go dark and all the Dinos roar and move.
Okay...this is NOT the Ambiguously Gay Duo car, even though it does favor the male anatomy. It is ACTUALLY a Goofy Matchbox car...Brock carried it all over Disney and even to the restaurant...We did get some strange looks at dinner! Many couldn't take their eye off the car...

Easter Weekend

We started Good Friday by going to the ENT...If you remember Brock has had ear issues and this was his post opt. appointment for his tubes...We thought we'd be in and out but he had a CLOGGED tube...who knew that even existed? So we had to throw our bodies across him hold him down while they sucked out the gook that clogged his ear...After that was over we could start Easter Weekend....

Saturday: We died Easter Eggs...It was stressful a memory!
Then, I made these cupcakes...

No really I did make them...I know you can't believe it but they were super easy!

Sunday: Brock got some goodies from the Easter Bunny.

This is a Nemo towel Brock got from the EB

We went to Church and then headed to Mimi's and Daddio's (My Aunt and Uncle's). We ate Daddio's YUMMY fried shrimp, homemade fries and hush puppies, potato salad, green beans, baked beans and lots of desserts. It was a wonderful southern meal. When my family gets together we have the best time...As you can see from the pics TONS of boys and outdoors to go around and one SWEET precious Taylor! Brock and Walker racing for EGGS!!!Are these kids not total hams??? Okay..this is my cuz Walker touching the tree with this BARE feet...only boys!
Daddio giving rides on the tire swing
Even sweet lil "Tater" got in on the action...Isn't she PRECIOUS???
Of course my man had to go the the basketball court! We had a great Easter...hope you did too!

Disney Part I

Please note...This was our LAST picture of the day...It just finished raining...Please excuse MY jacked UP appearance!

We had a great time in Disney World this past week. We left Sunday and came back home on Wednesday. We had SO much fun...so much that I can't tell or show it all in one post...Let's start with our room in Orlando. We stayed at Floridays Resort, it was really nice. It was the first time I've been to Disney and not stayed in "The Disney Compound". So we had to drive to Disney, which was a process that makes me appreciate staying in Disney. But, Brock really liked the room.

On Monday we got up early and headed to Disney. When Brock woke up (from his big bed in his own room AT 8:15 AM!!!!!) we told him today was THE day! He immediately responded with: "Get ready...get ready Mama" and took me by the hand to go get dressed.

We had a GREAT time at Disney. Two years old is a PERFECT AGE! He thought Mickey Mouse in the side of a wall was the same as the REAL Mickey Mouse. Everything was "Look at dat Mama..See it?" It was so precious! Here are some pictures from the day! He wasn't scared of anything. We rode the following...in no order: Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, Its a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Race Cars, the Carousel, Mickey Mouse 3D show, Buzz Lightyear, the Train...

We had lots of Yummy TREATS!

The race car drivers

Such a Daddy's Boy! We had lunch at a table right beside "It's a Small World". Brock got to watch the ride while we ate! Notice that precious reflection.
Brock fell asleep while waiting for The Pirates of the Caribbean Ride...but woke up in time to ride it and loved it!

When we asked Brock about his favorite part of Disney, he replies: Train Ride...As you can see from his smile HE LOVED IT!

It was the best memory that I have for us as a family...I'm sad it's over...

Stayed tuned for the rest of our trip...The rest didn't go as smooth and happy as Disney..I guess it is the HAPPIEST place on Earth!

Mickey Mouse Bound....

Hotel Room $700
Tickets: $200

Brock's smile when he sees Mickey Mouse....PRICELESS!

We leave tomorrow for Disney World! We are going to Disney on Monday and Sea World on Tuesday. Brock is so excited (in fact, he is still awake) to finally see Mickey and Goofy and Donald! We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather! Then, we are heading to Sea World since teachers get in free.
I think we must be smoking dang good crack to do two Theme Parks with a two year old in two days! But it will be a memory, right???

Brock's Favorite Color

This morning I got out the crayons that I bought in November 2008 for Christmas and just found this morning put up for a special day. These crayons are cool because they have 16 in one pack...so more colors to color with and learn. Jeremy was coloring with him and he got a white one and started to color. He looked at Jeremy and said "Broke Daddy?" because he didn't see anything! This is one of those time when I wished I had put down the load of clothes and colored with Brock so I wouldn't of missed that! When will I learn laundry, Clorox wiped countertops and made-beds really don't matter and will always be there...????

Almost Wordless Wednesday

We are so thanful for Ms. Pammy. She has kept Brock since I went back to school (he was only 5 months old)...and she will keep him until he starts school...But not only is she wonderful with Brock, but she makes the BEST cakes! This is one that "Brock helped her make" for me. We had to take his picture!!! It was SOOOO GOOD TOO! We love us some Pammy!!
