Countdown
Only 6 days and counting until Brock get his tubes! He is FINALLY well. After 5 weeks of coughing, endless amounts of green snot, coughing until you throw up, fever, shots, antibiotics, breathing treatments and sleepless nights, he seems to be back to his good old self! Since he is finally well, we are trying to keep him that way. Do you know where I can buy 2T size bubbles?? We didn't go ANYWHERE this weekend to prevent germs from getting near his fluid filled ears...I am about to go crazy. It was so cold and windy here that we didn't get to go outside too much either! So we are on the home stretch! Hopefully, next Monday we will be done with this and getting ready for his party...My baby is turning two!!! He was only 7 months here: Look at how FAT! I miss that fat...

Hello Sugar!
I have something that you have to try if you are addicted to Splenda or some other "sugar free" sweetener. It is Truvia.

It is all natur-AL and has no aspartame. Their website says...Our new sweetener is more than splendid. Which is totally slap in the face to its red headed step sister, Splenda, but it is WAY BETTER!!!! I have been using it in my coffee and it taste just like sugar! Sprite will be launching new drinks with Truvia. Let the sweetness begin!!!

I "dude" it
Everything...I mean everything we do or ask Brock to do his reply is always the same, " I dude it". In case you need a toddler translation, dude means do. Now that he is nearly two we are having conversations with him and it is so funny. Here is the latest one we had tonight:
K: "Quit hitting the computer."
Brock continues to hit the computer.
K: "Okay, do you want a spanking?"
B: nods his head yes
K: "Okay, I will get my spoon."
B: "I get it."
Brock goes to kitchen, grabs the spoon and returns.
B: "I dude it, Mama. Brock dude it."
Thanks son...if only you would give yourself a spanking...that would save me some time.
By the way...I have yet to see that spoon.
Additional BTW-Brock is feeling much better, while I have been diagnosed with STREP! YUCK!

Catch Up
No...I haven't fallen off the face of the earth and my Internet connect has been fine, but we have been super busy! Here are the reasons why (in bullet format for your easy reading pleasure)
*Purchased this swing set for Brock's birthday and are trying to have it put together in less than 3 weeks...Yeah I think we were smoking crack when we bought this...
*Brock is still sick and has been to TWO different doctors 3 times (in the past week)-We are set up for tubes-Finally!
*In the past two days Brock has had a fever of 102; hives; antibiotic shots; purchasing a nebulizer; breathing treatments; got fluid drained from both ears-only after being strapped down and mom leaving the room.
*In the past 48 hours I have only slept about 6 hours-TOTAL!
So I will try to post some pics tonight of Brock, but I think he may FINALLY be on the road to recovery-after 8 shots, 4 different antibiotics and one semi-surgical procedure.

6th in the 6th
I wanted to see what was in my 6th folder...So here it is...This is Brock on Christmas (Yes Christmas...It was 80 degrees that day-hence the shorts). He was at Grandma and Papa's and this is a precious Elmo farm set he got from Aunt Cherly.
BTW-Brock is responding very well to the shots...Only one more to go! He was such a trooper today; Hardly any tears until the shots came. I think it was becuase Daddy was there. Dads make everything better!

still sick
We went to the doctor today and Brock wasn't any better. So doctor decided to start with a three day series of shots of Rocephin. So we will be going back to see the doctor Tues. and Wed. Then, came the news I had NOT expected to hear:
Dr. C: If he is no better on Wednesday we need to get you in with a ENT ASAP!
K: You mean like a ear, nose, and throat doctor ( you know he was like yeah you re-re??)
Dr C: Yes. They will go in an "suck out" all the mucus that is built up.
(Side bar on Dr C-He is sooo chill and laid back. After more questions from the freaked out mom, I realized he was talking about putting tubes in his ears. I need a laid back doctor, because if you know me I never lay back!)
So Brock had to get one shot in each leg. It was AWFUL! I cried and cried. I am tearing up at this second. The worst part is that we had to wait 20 minutes in the office after the shots so they could make sure there was no side effects...oh yeah and the fact that his legs were numb for two hours after the shot.
Thank you for the comments and prayers. We are so blessed that this is the first real sickness that we have dealt with. I thank God every minute that it is just an ear infection. I am so lucky to have a healthy child.
I'll keep you posted...
