Move along…Move Along

Christmas 2010 came and went as fast as I can destroy a bag of Sweet Sixteen Donuts…which is very fast friends…

It got warmed up with a great cookie decorating party. Brock…who-was THE only boy at the party…learned alot about Fancy Nancy and all things PINK! 008 012 016

Then, before we knew it, it was time for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We picked the COLDEST day of the year to go, but it got us in the Christmas spirit….Brock and Cason had LOTS of fun…031

Captain Hook is obviously WEST-SIDE ‘FOR LIFE!!!

After we got back home-Jeremy and I both fell out with Strep throat. Jeremy, literally “fell out” with it. He got so sick, he passed out in the bathroom.

Thankfully, we made it through with lots of rest , drugs and help from our family….and were well for CHRISTMAS…..

22 weeks and other stuff…

So pregnancy has made me loose what bit of patience I had. Therefore, you don’t get the full long weekly post. You get a belly shot and another post all wrapped in one!

What’s going on this week:

After dealing with Brock having last week strep throat, last week of school, Christmas parties and Christmas shopping…I am exhausted!

I did get to go to my OBGYN this week…however, not for a sonogram but for a STREP test…yuk! Now, Jeremy and I both have strep throat and it is tough. At least we are off work, there is no way I would of been able to go to work with this mess. It’s been three days and about all I can do it take a shower  …hopefully today I will bounce back. I’ve got so much to-do since it is only 3 days before CHRISTMAS! I can’t believe it! I am so thankful we got sick BEFORE Christmas…instead of during!

Here is my 22 week shot…no face, too tired, no make and I set the self timer…CSC_0065 CSC_0068

Gray and black...the only colors my wardrobe has to offer these days….along with these yoga pants. I look really big here, but after 3 days of not eating, Cooper has lost his “poof”! Unfortunately, my backside has NOT!

DCF….We can explain!

Well…if Brock’s school hasn’t called DCF (Dept. of Children and Families) it is a miracle!

Two weeks ago he was limping at school. Then last Monday, he showed up with a shiner…that is right a BLACK EYE!  He was with his Daddy, when the incident occurred. His head collided with Brady’s (our cousin) head. Luckily, it hasn’t stopped or slowed him down any. He didn’t even cry when he ran into Brady! Nor could his Daddy remember what happened that would of made him have a dark, swollen eye…

Wouldn’t it be great to think like a Dad? Not worrying/remembering/thinking about every little bite, bump or bruise!?!019 015 016 017

Brock is doing his homework here…I can’t believe my 3 year old had homework!!! He loved every minute of it too!018

It looks like he got a hold of some green/purple eye shadow…

Thank goodness it was AFTER our trip to see Santa Claus…Side note: Let me explain my child’s non-holiday choice of attire. Brock REFUSED to wear anything Christmas-y- or anything that his Mama picked out to wear…I’ve learned it is NOT worth it and we took this Christmas pictures in gym shorts, t-shirt and come Chuck’s! This makes me smile, because this is totally how the weather is in Florida around Christmas…Normally shorts are preferable during December.  This was the day after the scary ER visit, so I was thankful we were taking Santa pictures and not worried about the outfit!   008  014 011  013

Merry Christmas!

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good!

What I miss: The love for diet coke and caffeine.

What I love: Feeling him kick and feeling good.

Symptoms: Irritability…not sure if its pregnancy, or just my miss sunshine personality!

Best Moment this week: Buying my maternity jeans and this maternity tank that I wear under EVERYTHING …

Brock’s question of the week about the baby: “Does Cooper throw up too?” This was after a nasty stomach bug that Brock got.

It’s amazing how much clothes conceal. Whew!!!

Something to be thankful for…

Tuesday morning, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I was annoyed, aggravated and so many other things for really no good reason. I went to school just looking forward for my 5 day weekend.

Later that afternoon I went to pick up Brock and he wouldn’t walk. He had been limping all day and the later it got, the less he wanted to walk. I met Jeremy at his school for his opinion, and to appease me, we decided to take him down the road to an Urgent Care for an x-ray.

Two x-rays later and a lot of tears (Brock and Mama), they told us to head STRAIGHT to Wolfson’s Children's Hospital due to a spot they saw on his bone.

Talk about S-C-A-R-E-D. My little baby couldn’t walk and there was a spot on his bone. I lost it! I’m crying as I type…

Two hours later we made it back into a room at Wolfson’s where the ER doctor narrowed it down to his hip. Brock went for X-rays, blood work, IV, and a sonogram. Then we were told to wait…the worst thing ever!

I am such a negative Nelly and I was thinking the worst and praying for the best. I was on the verge of a breakdown any second, but I knew I had to keep it together for Brock. He was SO GOOD. That is actually an understatement. Also, Jeremy’s mom and dad met us there and they were a huge help to keep him occupied. I thought, surely, my baby is not that sick. We had a lot of support from our family and friends who were constantly texting us for support.

On our way back from a sonogram of Brock’s hip, our pediatrician found us. He said he had just spoke to the sonogram tech, and there was some fluid on the hip. Which was causing him to limp. I told him the blood work had NOT come back and neither had the x-rays. He said he’d try to find out. He came back about 10 minutes later and told us blood work was good and so were x-rays. NO SPOTS!! I’ve always LOVED Dr. C…but that proved that he cares. We were so relieved. It was not an infection or tumor, but toxic synovitus.

It was so clear to me, that stuff doesn’t matter. I had been worrying about what to wear for Thanksgiving…Who cares! I have a perfectly healthy family and a another blessing on the way. This really showed us what Thanksgiving is about: Not planning your shopping route or making a delicious dessert, but loving and giving thanks to God for all our blessings he has given us.

Wolfson’s staff was wonderful and is now on my list for things to be thankful for. Our nurse, Valerie, was wonderful!! As well as our pediatrician, Dr. C!

Brock seems to be recovering well. He was able to go hunting with all his cousins in Georgia and is currently, limp free! We are so blessed! I am so embarrassed that it took something this scary to make me stop and realize how blessed I am!

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Don’t forget to go to my last post for details on how you can get FREE Shutterfly Christmas  Cards!

It’s the most wonderful time…

Being preggo has made me EXTRA lazy and anything that requires planning I totally drop the ball on. Most of the time I am searching for my favorite pair of sweat pants or standing in front of the pantry wondering what to eat. So to make my life easier-we aren’t going to do family Christmas pictures this year. What a relief. No coordinating outfits, lining up haircut appointments, finding a photographer, or hearing my husband complain! We will totally do them next year when we have our family of four…but this year, Jeremy is off the hook (I’m also hoping for an extra special present in return).

Well, what about your Christmas cards, you ask? We are using a picture we had taken during our summer vacation. We are in bright colors and I don’t have weight on my face! SO that’s how I picked this picture! Pre-pregnancy always wins!!!! Easiest decision of the week for me.

I read on Hall4One about Shutterfly’s Christmas Card Deal for Bloggers….yay a perk for bloggers! I used Shutterfly for Brock’s birth announcement and one year book and they are always cute! I already had my picture uploaded (one step down) so I knew I had to do this. All you do is GO HERE for details. You can get free cards!!! What a deal!!!
