Two months

It’s been a while since my last post-so long that I forgot where the Live Writer icon was…

So my Cooper is two months. He is sleeping about 7-8 hours at a time and drinking 4-6 ounces every 4-5 hours. He was 12.8 pounds at his two month check and was 23” long.He has found his hands and likes his paci to go to sleep. He loves his bouncy seat. He is so sweet and precious.

He has really started smiling at us. DSC_0894 DSC_0868

Summer has been great! Each day makes me want to go back to work less and less. I though I’d want to pull my hair out with two kids at home…but I love it!!!! That surprises me…I always though I’d rather work, but I’m changing my mind…too bad our budget isn’t! UGH!! I keep telling myself-if I HAVE to work-teaching is the best job…please remind me of this in August when I’m working 10 hour days and my mind is racing at midnight about all the things I STILL have to do. And re-remind me in March when I’m preparing my kids for a stinkin’ test that is high-stakes for them and ME…

But I’m not thinking about that. I am thinking about all the fun things we are doing, just staying home. Yesterday, Brock and I colored, played Blues Clues, pretended to be pirates and I was also Bambi’s mother for a bit. Summer is flying by…hope it slows down!

We have also started swimming lessons. Maybe today I’ll take my camera…ha!! Brock is doing great and I have no doubt, if he fell in, he could make it to the side…That’s all I wanted anyway!

oNe mOnTh- MAY 11TH & T-ball

Cooper was one month on May 11th. Can’t believe it’s already been a month. He is still so easy to handle. He gets up every 3-4 hours at night, but usually eats and go right back to sleep.

Also-T-ball came to an end (tear…not really) DSC_0791 CSC_0745

He looks so old to me here. Such a little boy!

Perks of Maternity Leave

Staying home is awesome for many reasons. But getting to go to Brock’s Easter party at school made me feel like a real mom, if that makes sense. Sometimes going to work, instead of a school party, makes me feel like I’m choosing work over my child. Which is something I think I will always struggle with as a working mom.  However,  it is easier to go to work because Brock has an awesome sitter (Pammy) that treats him as her own and goes to EVERY party that I can’t make!

When I told Brock I was going to his Easter party at school he said :”You’re not going to your school? YAY!!” It was perfect!

And they are off…this was so cute! Tons of 4-5 year olds chasing after 515 eggs…That’s right-they hid 515 eggs!DSC_0532

Brock and his big buddies, Jake and Brandon.

I stood back and listened to them play-Here they are being “Super Hero’s” I love to hear his conversations with other kids his age!

Two baskets this year

This year for Easter-we had two baskets…which was weird for me!

Brock is really into wrestling at this second (which could change by the time I finish this post), so the bunny filled his basket with WWE goodies. 003  004

Coop and I spent the morning in our pj’s while Jeremy and Brock went to church.

010 014

Just so happen all the boys had yellow on..totally NOT planned!

Then we headed to Grandma and Papa Jack’s for lunch and some egg hunting. Brock and Colleen enjoyed their lunch before hunting eggs.

I’m loving Uncle T’s homemade basket-his T shirt

072

Egg hunting came to a halt when Colleen let a cricket crawl on her arm-notice the little hand with the stick-That’s my child. He wanted the cricket on the stick..not on his arm.

Grandma (Coop’s great-grandma) and Cooper

Cooper spent his first Easter sleeping-he loves to sleep so far…but still waking up at night every 3 hours…forgot how exhausting a newborn can be. 086078

Loved this little outfit. Fit him perfectly for Easter. It was Brock’s.

Do you think they look alike??

Note: I am so thankful my 2nd pregnancy was kinder than my first…can you say...”BRICKHOUSE”!  These aren’t my favorite pictures, but they are the best to compare the boys…

“Can you give her something to bite on?”

The title of this post may seem off topic…but I’ll get to it!

Cooper’s arrival was completely unexpected for a few reasons-One-I was two weeks early when I delivered. Two-I had to be induced after being a week late with Brock. Three-I had no idea what labor contractions really felt like.

So Monday around 1:15am  I was woken up by something. I kinda thought it was a contraction, but I was really hoping to go back to sleep because FCAT was in like 7 hours and I had to be prepared!! I had been having a few here and there-so I thought it was just a fluke.

Then…1:25 I had another one..huh-I thought-these must be contractions. I thought they would stop.

And then every 5-6 minutes I had another one. I got up, used the bathroom-just to make sure it wasn’t gas or something non-labor related.

So finally around 2am I woke up Jeremy and called the doctor. They called me back and said the contractions should last about 60 seconds and to head towards the hospital since they were about 4-5 minutes apart.

The second I got off the phone with the nurse, they went from uncomfortable and unsure to -THIS IS A FREAKING CONTRACTION…WE GOTTA GO NOW!

So Jeremy and I loaded up the in the car about 2:30-mind you…I’ve barely been in labor for an hour and I was in pain. I told Jeremy on the way-“I gotta get an epidural and then we can go back to sleep!”

Well, while in the car-they contractions were painful and coming every 2-3 minutes. Then like every minute…they felt like they weren’t stopping. The hospital ride was scary because Jeremy was going WAY over the speed limit and about half way there with each contraction I had the urge to push…I was just hoping and praying to make it to the hospital!

We get to the ER and the girl  very SLOWLY rolls out with her wheel chair and says..”Where to?” Are you kidding me! I’m huge, can barely sit down and so I yell-Labor and Delivery….and we got to hurry!! She had NO pep and I swear I could of got there by myself faster- We roll into L&D at a snails pace and there’s NO ONE to be found…really-I immediately start to panic and yell-Where is EVERYONE??

They get me into the door way of the triage room and my water breaks…EVERYWHERE-Good thing I was wearing my beach flip-flops…they are totally water resistant! I should of been wearing flippers though-

They tell me to get into a gown and get into bed-In like 5 seconds I’m in the bed yelling-you gotta check me-I need an epidural!  Then she LEAVES! Holy cow-I’m alone in this room-Jeremy’s parking the car-no nurse and I wanna push so bad.

What felt like forever-finally a nurse comes in and checks me-she had no choice cause I was being totally unlady like. I could tell in her face-it was not good. She said-“She’s complete”!  I could of been shot…I had no idea that it could happen that fast.

Having and L&D nurse as a best friend I knew what this meant-I was ready to push and couldn’t get any drugs….Epidural was totally in my birth plan…who am I kidding, it was my ONLY plan!  About this time Jeremy runs in from parking the car and I look at him and say-I can’t have an epidural-I think he was more scared than me…so he ask her again and she says-No…I’m sorry, she’s ready to push… I said “Are you $HI**ing me?” No one wanted to answer me. Then two more nurses come in and slap a monitor on my belly-get one heart beat and tell me to PUSH!

All I could think was…I can’t do this…I can’t do this….

Jer grabs my hand and they tell me to push-which actually is what my body was telling me to do. So I pushed and screamed and pushed. Then, trying to control the screaming,  I turned and BIT Jeremy’s arm…that’s right-all vampire-ish-I bit him. That’s when he asked the nurses: “Can we get her something to bite on????”  (now it sounds so funny-but he was so serious-he didn’t want to loose his arm to JAWS). But one quick push after that and Cooper was here!!! I think it was about 3-4 pushes…Thank the LORD!

It happened so fast-which I am so thankful for. We arrived at hospital about 2:50 and Coop was born at 3:05am.

Three nurses delivered Cooper! They were so calm and the one in the picture below nearly lost her neck because she was trying to comfort me! I did apologize AFTER the fact for all the cursing and screaming!! And tried to sound really nice and sweet. My doctor arrived about 20 minutes after delivery. Better late than never I guess. There is no way she would of made it.

Jeremy helped the nurse turn on the warmer and get things ready. I am so thankful I had mind to grab my camera and brought it with me. They were a little unprepared. I delivered in a regular bed, in a triage room. They had to take Coop across the hall to the nursery. Normally they do all this in your L&D room.

They only got my name before the delivery-but had to ask again to clarify. I signed all liability paperwork AFTER delivery! Everything was done backwards.

026

Check out this hair do-WHEW! I think it proves the quickness  that he came out with-and my face is like “HOLY CRAP”! I just had a baby ALL natural…no IV, no nothing!

It was something I will never forget. I am so grateful that it happened the way it did. Recovery was so much easier and faster than my first delivery and this time around and I am enjoying every second of this baby!!

Cooper Jack was born April 11th @ 3:05 am…in a whirlwind…in a snap…he was here!!! 062

We are adjusting to being a family of four. I love these boys…

I’ll keep you hanging for the labor story…cause it’s pretty unbelievable…but I had a share a few quick pics.

27 weeks

So what’s going on with me and Cooper?

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Size of baby: About 15 inches long and around  two pounds. Only two pounds? He sure feels bigger than that!

Maternity Clothes: Yes…My favorite thing is a sweat suit thing from Target. It has been a life saver and I pretty much wear it Saturday AND Sunday.

1213717930__V174235995_

Gender: It’s a BOY! Cooper Jack

Movement: I feel him all the time. I swear he is in my ribs all the time. I don’t remember Brock feeling like he’s in my ribs…but Cooper can’t seem to get out of them.

What I miss: Bending over without thinking twice. Now I think…do I really have to bend over, or is there another way?

What I love: Feeling him kick  and know he will be here soon.

Cravings: Nothing really out of the ordinary. I have re-kindled my love for regular coke.

Symptoms: Irritability in a blink of an eye!

Best Moment this week: Getting ready to paint the room and buying furniture.

Worst Moment: Going to the doctor this week was bad and good. Bad:

*Gained a few too many pounds

*Have to go back and re-do my glucose because the lady that took my blood  evidently has an issue with following protocol and didn’t make me drink that yummy orange drink. Just took my blood. Nice!

*Found out I’m anemic=Iron supplement=just another pill=no biggie

Good:

*Brock got to meet Dr. W-who delivered him: I can’t believe he ever looked like this:-) He looks so big…I kind of hope Cooper’s not that big…LOL!IMG_0079

Here’s my weekly shot…well my bi-monthly shot!

022

I’m loving this red shirt….I seem to wear it ALL the time. Even under my Target sweat suit!

Give aways are AWeSoMe…especially if you WIN!

It has already crossed my mind…because I am planner…Cooper Jack’s first photography session. I love newborn pictures. I still have Brock’s out. I want one taken of Cooper similar to the one Brock had and place it next to Brock’s. I wonder if they will look similar??? I have a feeling he will NOT look like Brock. That hair Brock had is one in a million…Remember this:

001

He was only two months  old here

Soooo…..thank goodness Kari Vennard Photography is doing a Newborn Session Give AWAY!!! YAY! Just go HERE to check out the details. Also, if you go to her Facebook page and “like” it and write on her wall-“I can’t wait to meet Kerri Boatright’s baby”…that will give me an even bigger chance to win! Thanks guys!!!

24 weeks

Dang…only 4 months to go…

So what’s going on with me and Cooper?

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Size of baby: Cooper is the size of an papaya? Really….that seems small to me. A little over a pound too!

Maternity Clothes: Yes…Pants mostly-went to Destination Maternity and had to shop in the back section…AKA the cheaper maternity clothes. I am still happy I can’t wear any clothes from Brock’s pregnancy…YAY!

Gender: It’s a BOY! Cooper Jack

Movement: ALOT! I am able to see him move from watching my stomach. We also found out that he is currently breech (EEEKK!) So I feel alot of movement really low…especially in the bladder region! He also doesn’t like it when I sit with my legs up…I think it scrunches him up or something.

What I miss: The love for diet coke and caffeine.

What I love: Feeling him kick  and picking out nursery decor and looking for furniture. I love to hear Brock ask questions and get excited about Cooper. He always calls him “Cooper Jack”!

Cravings: Lemons and Oranges and donuts…hopefully the fruit will offset the major calories in donuts.

Symptoms: Irritability…not sure if its pregnancy, or just my Miss Sunshine personality!

Best Moment this week: Brock telling me out of no where on a recent Target trip…”Mama, I can’t wait to see Cooper Jack.” Me either Brock….001
