The Big 2-7

This week I had a wonderful birthday...This was the first year Brock was able to tell me and sing Happy Birthday! That was the best part. Also, my wonderful and thoughtful husband surprised me with a coconut cake from my favorite little bakery...YUM!

I really don't feel any different...just hard to believe that I am 27...Seems like just yesterday I wanted a 5 disc CD player with Alanis Morissette or a Green Day CD...or some new Bongo's with an over-sized Exploration T-shirt and matching scrunchi-to wear around my arm...not in my hair of, course!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas..

in Brock's bedroom that is! The pictures tell the real story-but here is the background info:

It was Saturday afternoon. Jeremy and I are watching College Football and I am making potato salad, for the first time (a whole other post) and I realized I hadn't seen or heard from Brock in a while. I looked in the playroom...saw Dora, but no Brock. Then I turned and my mouth hit the ground...I sucked in THE BIGGEST GASP of air and then said BBBRRROOOCCCKK!!!! (then said a few un-mentionables under my breath)....

Then I started to laugh and called for Jeremy....here is what we saw:

No...my lens is NOT dirty...that is baby powder FLYING around everywhere! His eyelashes were covered with powder...Not only did he use one bottle of powder, but another SUPERSIZED one.

Guess who had to clean it up! This is my feet 1/2 way through cleaning up that mess!

This morning when we got up, there was powder covering the top of my entertainment center in the living room!

Which one doesn't fit?

I must have been absent the week in Kindergarten when they taught "Which one of these doesn't belong?" I must not be able to tell what/what does not go together. Well, I lie-I do know it doesn't belong...I just choose to leave it there.

This is funny to me...this is my jewelry box that hangs on the wall...

Do you see it?? The BRIGHT NEON highlighter? What the heck...this thing has been in there for months...I have NO idea how/when it got in there...and I'm not sure when it will be removed...'cause I always know where to find my trusty highlighter.

Am I the only one?

Peter picked a peck of peppers...

If Peter was picking these peppers...bet he got in some trouble! These are REAL peppers. You can find them under the name Peter Peppers...Not. Even. Kidding!

Big Fatty was a Big Let Down

I have been on the hunt for a mascara that will not leave its black presence under my eyelids. By lunch, sometimes even 10am I have got lil black marks from where I blink under my eyes...so ANNOYING. I've used concealer, foundation, powder and still it appears...it is a problem I've had for a while.

I thought I would try some new mascara and see if the more pricier brands would stay on my lashes, rather than end up on my face.

So I headed to Sephora and asked one of the ladies there. When I told her the mascara I currently used, she silently laughed to herself and said, "It's probably the mascara." She totally ranked on my current mascara without saying a word! Then she said, "Have you tried Big Fatty?"

Do WHAAATTT? I just met you lady...I'm not about to answer that question! I totally needed more clarification. So I said:

"Ummm...what is that?" She said that it was a mascara by Urban Decay and it was one of the best she had tried. She really stressed how good it was. It was a little pricey, but luckily they had a smaller size, so it only $9.

The next day I was so excited to try it! I just pictured myself with eye lashes that were thick, full and black!! Oh how lovely I would look!!!

Well, it was the BIGGEST let-down of my week! My lashes were none of the above. They were thin and long...but not black. It really didn't look like I had mascara on! Even after 13 coats! However, I didn't have any residue under my eyes...but if it doens't look like you have mascara then what is the point!

So don't feel bad if you haven't had a Big Fatty either...It is a BIG DANG disappointment!

One good thing about the Big Fatty is its container is totally cute!
